MONDAY'S & WEDNESDAYS: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

GRIT STRENGTH

Age Range: 12–18 Years

Description:
GRIT STRENGTH is designed to help athletes transition from foundational athletic development into structured strength training and high school-level weightlifting.

This class builds upon the movement patterns introduced in YOUTH GRIT while introducing athletes to progressive strength training principles, barbell fundamentals, and sport-specific performance development. Athletes learn how to safely and effectively apply strength training to improve performance in sports, build resilience, and develop confidence in the weight room.

Training focuses on foundational movement patterns such as pushing, pulling, hinging, squatting, rotating, carrying, sprinting, jumping, and single-leg stability before progressing into compound lifts and dynamic exercises. Athletes are introduced to barbell movements including deadlifts, squats, presses, Olympic lifting variations, and other strength-based exercises commonly found in high school athletic programs.

A major emphasis of GRIT STRENGTH is learning proper technique, movement quality, and long-term athletic development. Athletes are taught concepts such as progressive overload, submaximal loading, training intent, and recovery while understanding that technical failure is absolute failure — meaning movement quality and safety always come before the amount of weight being lifted.

Whether preparing for junior high athletics, transitioning into high school strength programs, or looking to improve performance within a specific sport, GRIT STRENGTH provides athletes with the structure, coaching, and confidence needed to succeed both in and outside the weight room.
