YOUTH GRIT

Age Range: 8–12 Years

Description:
YOUTH GRIT is designed to help young athletes build confidence, coordination, and strength through movement, play, and structured athletic development.

This class is centered around creating an environment where kids genuinely enjoy being active. Through athletic games, relay races, sprint drills, agility work, reaction-based challenges, and team activities, athletes naturally develop motor coordination, balance, speed, body awareness, and overall athleticism.

Alongside play-based movement, athletes begin learning foundational strength training patterns such as pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, rotating, carrying, and single-leg movements. Exercises may include bodyweight training, resistance bands, dumbbells, medicine balls, sled work, and introductory strength movements taught with a strong emphasis on technique and safety.

At Horizon Athletic, we believe youth training should develop the athlete as a whole; not just physically, but socially and mentally as well. The environment is supportive, energetic, and encouraging, helping athletes build confidence, friendships, focus, and resilience while creating a positive relationship with exercise and movement.

Rather than specializing too early, YOUTH GRIT focuses on building a broad athletic foundation that transfers across all sports and everyday life.
